One of the reasons we sign people up is to gain access to their
networks. That's why it's called Network Marketing. Now most
of us do a good job of accessing the networks of our business
builders. One of the first things we have a new business builder
do is write down the list of the people they know, so we can
access that network. But what percentage of the people in your
downline are business builders? Maybe 5%? What about the other
95% of the people in your downline, the consumers who are not
doing the business? Mostly, we don't ever access their networks.
So we are only reaching 1-in-20 of the people that we could
through the people in our downline.
We've never really done much
with asking for referrals. Think of all the people that we're
not reaching with hope, health and freedom because we don't
ask our consumers for referrals. We have tens of thousands of
people in Cell Tech and most of them are consumers who are not
doing the business. If we could sign up just one person that
each of these people knows, we could double Cell Tech in a month.
Here are some tips on how to do this effectively:
1. You need to have it be
okay that you're asking for referrals. The conversation that
you're having with yourself while you're talking to your consumers
cannot be something like "Bob, I'm calling you to totally
intrude on you and ask you to do something that you absolutely
don't want to do." That's not going to work, and I don't
think it's really true.
The conversation you're having
with yourself needs to go something like this. "Bob, I'm
calling you because I know that you really care about your friends
and family and that if you knew there was something that could
help them with a health problem they were having, or could prevent
them from developing a health problem, you would jump at the
chance to do that and would welcome anyone who could assist
you in doing that."
So make sure you handle any
considerations that you have about asking for referrals so that
you're not getting that all over your consumers
2. It's very important that
you ask the right question here. It's important how you actually
phrase the question. Don't ask people if they know of anyone
that they would like to share the products with. If you ask
this question, most people will probably say "No they don't."
Ask them whom they know who
could use more energy. Or could benefit from a stronger immune
system. Or would like to start a home-based business.
I hope you find this information
useful and let's sign up thousands of people by asking for referrals.
