Coaching Formula

This is a normal agenda outline for any business or social club meeting. In essence, the flow is as follows:
  1. Check-in/handle current issues – What’s working, what’s not, what did they accomplish, etc. (sort of like committee reports at a meeting.)
  2. Vision – What do they want? Why do they want it? What will it look like when they have it? (This is where you set specific goals... whether numerical or other kinds depends entirely on the person who is being coached – but goals need to be measurable in some way.)
  3. Old Business – What’s going on with you right now? What is your schedule? What do you need to finish, consider, or handle before you can go forward?
  4. New Business – What are you going to do? What’s coming up that you can take advantage of? What can you create that will get you where you want to go?
  5. Set the next appointment.

Please note: You can use this outline for a simple goal-setting session for a brand new business builder in a conversational format – not even using any forms. The sample worksheet is more appropriate for a committed business builder who is ready to write down very specific tasks and goals, and we have a more advanced worksheet being edited that is useful for the gemstone or double diamond to discusses more complex businesses. Notice that the process itself remains the same – it simply expands and contracts to meet the needs of the individual being coached.
